Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated

It is with heavy heart that we share the passing of our dear sister Ashley Avila from the Eta Chapter at the University of the Incarnate Word. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May 2014.

 

Ashley was a ER nurse—calm under pressure, fiercely compassionate, and endlessly devoted to her patients. Family say her skill and heart made her a source of comfort during the most critical moments. But her impact didn’t stop there. As a nursing instructor, she poured her knowledge and passion into shaping the next generation of caregivers, inspiring them to lead with both expertise and empathy. She believed nursing was more than a profession; it was a calling, a way to serve, to heal, and to make the world a little better each day.

Ashley was beautiful, resilient and an inspiration to many people. She was surrounded by friends and family who say she was full of grace, laughter, and had a way of making life more beautiful.
