Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated

It is with heavy heart that we share the passing of our sister Betty Dessie. She crossed in Fall 2021 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and played an integral role within Rho Chapter, helping it achieve chapter status. She was kind, honest and her work-ethic was unmatched. She lit up every room she walked into.

While at the university, Betty was actively involved in several other programs and organizations. She was also very proud of the research she conducted on “Understanding the Virulence Mechanisms and Factors of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia.”Betty graduated in May 2024 with her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.

Our sister touched so many lives with her warmth and kindness. Her spirit is everlasting, and will be deeply missed.
