Black History Month 2023
This February marks 47 Years since the week-long event officially became Black History Month. This month we recognize the accomplishments and advancements of the Black community. Aside from this, we also reflect on the hardships and systemic issues that affected the Black community in the past and continue to affect the Black community in the present. We encourage everyone to go beyond the knowledge we were taught in school regarding Black history. You can do this by supporting Black businesses, researching about the issues that affect the community, learning about how Black culture has influenced society, learning about cultural practices and how to appreciate vs appropriate, and so much more. Stay tuned for our next blog post!
