National Arab American Heritage Month

This April we usher in National Arab American Heritage Month! If you didn't know about this heritage month, you are not alone. Although over 3 million Americans have Arab roots, the US did not nationally recognize this heritage month until April 2021! This month is dedicated to the influence and accomplishments of Arab-Americans. To highlight some of the Arab culture, we would like to showcase some cultural headwear commonly seen but very seldom discussed. Women who wear the following head wear, each have their own reasons for wearing it. It is important to respect the culture of others, ask questions, and to do our research when we need clarity. We hope the following can help bring some knowledge to those who are interested in learning more.
